Therapy helps, but sometimes it is not enough on its own. If depression, anxiety, or a mood disorder is still running the day for you or for your child, medication may be the piece that is missing. Trisha sees adults and children age 8 and up across Phoenix and the West Valley, in the office or by video. We take your insurance and most people are seen within a week.

Trisha Spoerl, psychiatric provider at Wholeness 2 Peace in Phoenix

Meet Trisha, PMHNP-BC

Trisha Spoerl, PMHNP-BC, handles psychiatric medication management at Wholeness 2 Peace. She works with adults and with children age 8 and up who are dealing with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and the kind of day to day struggle that has not lifted on its own. She listens first and she explains every option in plain language before anything is prescribed. You will leave understanding what is being prescribed and why.

Bringing your child in

Deciding whether to put your child on medication is not a small decision, and you should not have to make it alone or in a hurry. Trisha will walk you through what she is seeing, what the options are, and what happens if you decide to wait. Nothing gets prescribed that you do not understand and agree with. If medication is not the right step for your child, she will tell you that.

In person or by video

You can meet with Trisha at our office on North 43rd Avenue or by video from home. Most plans cover video visits the same as visits in the office, and we will confirm yours when you call. If you are working around a job, a school schedule, or a drive across the valley, video is usually the easier choice.

Questions people ask before the first visit

Do I have to take medication if I come in?

No. The first visit is an evaluation. Trisha will tell you what she is seeing and what the options are, and waiting is always one of those options. Nothing is prescribed that you have not agreed to.

Will medication change who I am?

Trisha will walk you through what a specific medication does, what to watch for, and what to do if it does not feel right. If something is not working, you call us and she adjusts it. You are not locked into the first thing you try.

Do I have to stop therapy?

No. Medication and therapy often work better together than either does alone. If you are already seeing someone, Trisha will work alongside them. If you are not, we have therapists here.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can call us directly. If your doctor wants to send records or a referral, we take those too.
